Position Overview

KNM is looking for a trial attorney with experience defending cases all the way through jury trial. This opportunity includes a significant book of business with an institutional client with multiple matters scheduled for jury trials throughout the year. If you are someone who can manage and further develop this existing book of business, please apply. The successful candidate will assume immediate leadership and firm management responsibilities. Ideal candidate is someone with prior experience managing a litigation team involved in multimillion dollar litigation cases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex civil litigation matters 
  • Conduct legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
  • Well-versed in all types of litigation defense practices. 
  • Handle all aspects of cases assigned to them, from the inception of the matter to defending the case before a jury.  
  • Direct client contact and opportunities to market your skills and capabilities for additional work. 
  • You will collaborate with other accomplished lawyers in your office and across the firm, managing multiple cases at a time. 
  • You will mentor and supervise attorneys and legal staff in the office and develop a strategy with our entire management structure for growing the office. 

Requirements

  • License to practice law in Illinois
  • Litigation or trial experience (7+ years)
  • Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Analytical skills
