Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have 4 to 7+ years of experience in direct civil litigation defense, personal injury and/or insurance defense and experience managing cases from beginning to end. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong civil litigation background who have deposition and second-chair trial experience. Some travel is required, and all qualified candidates must be licensed to practice in Illinois.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of complex civil litigation matters
Conduct legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
Well-versed in all types of litigation defense practices.
Handle all aspects of cases assigned to them, from the inception of the matter to defending the case before a jury.
Direct client contact and opportunities to market your skills and capabilities for additional work.
You will collaborate with other accomplished lawyers in your office and across the firm, managing multiple cases at a time.

Requirements

License to practice law in Kansas, Missouri
Litigation or trial experience (4 – 7+ years)
Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills
Excellent writing skills
Analytical skills
